ICT Infrastructure & Systems Professional · Jamaica

Curious by nature.
Reliable by design.

I plan and deliver reliable ICT services across multi-site environments, from network and infrastructure operations to Microsoft 365 and end-user support. My work combines hands-on troubleshooting, project delivery, and vendor coordination, with a focus on making technology easier for people to use.

Still curious. Still asking how it works.

Some results
I’m proud of.

A quick look at the impact: lower internet costs, stronger staff ICT capability, multi-site support, and scaling an IT operation from its first rollout.

The expanded operation supported 1,000+ agents across shifts and 100 permanent full-time staff. The 700+ PC figure is a lower bound.

A few things I’ve worked on

Problems solved.
Things made better.

A few real-world fixes and improvements across nonprofit, enterprise, and retail settings. I’ve kept the details high level to respect organizational privacy.

01 / CONNECTIVITY

Resilient connectivity, lower cost

Reduced recurring monthly internet costs by 43% and improved cost-effectiveness by using Flow Business as the primary connection, retaining Starlink for failover, and reducing Starlink’s allocated bandwidth. This kept a backup internet path available while lowering monthly spend.

Network resilience
02 / INFRASTRUCTURE

Fibre and wireless modernization

Oversaw an internet-connectivity upgrade across eight residential houses, moving from Ethernet cabling to fibre and installing a wireless access point in each house. The project improved the network foundation and brought Wi-Fi coverage to every home.

Multi-site delivery
03 / GOVERNANCE

Stronger ICT operations

Created an incident management framework and supporting ICT standards. Standardized network diagrams, asset and software inventories, user access records, and infrastructure documentation to improve operational visibility. I also assessed staff ICT competencies and provided one-on-one basic ICT training to build their knowledge and skills, increasing staff ICT competency by 30%.

04 / OPTIMUM JAMAICA

Building Optimum’s IT foundation in Jamaica

I joined at inception, starting with 50 PCs from ItelCX for the Altice USA campaign and helping build the operation from the ground up. I called it my “baby project” because I was there from the beginning. By my departure in 2024, the operation had grown to more than 700 PCs, supporting over 1,000 agents across shifts and 100 permanent full-time staff. I also coordinated local vendors and Jamaican suppliers with international partners.

From Excel sheets to a server-hosted Snipe-IT portal

The solution used Snipe-IT’s open-source platform to replace Excel-based asset registration and monitoring with a centralized, server-hosted portal that I designed and implemented.

Professional experience

A career built
one problem at a time.

I started in hands-on support, grew into infrastructure leadership, and still enjoy getting close to the problem when it calls for it.

I’ve always been interested in technology and how things work. As a child, I’d pull things apart to figure them out, sometimes getting into trouble with my parents for it. They weren’t always thrilled, but that curiosity stuck around and still guides how I approach ICT.

Moving from Ibex Global to ItelCX was a deliberate choice to build deeper hands-on experience. I took a step back to make a leap forward. My work ethic and dedication helped me earn a promotion from Technical Analyst, Tier II, to IT Manager.

Life beyond ICT

Family, cars, and time to recharge.

Outside work, I’m a single dad to a teenage daughter. Family keeps me grounded, and I make time to unwind around cars and motorsport.

I enjoy attending local speedway events and private street racing on cordoned-off private roadways away from public roads. My personal car is a modified, naturally aspirated Honda Prelude.
